Well I understand one thing better today than yesterday. We had some distant relatives pass thru from florida on the way to the twin cities. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY MEXICANS IN YOUR STATE, they asked/wondered. Being a farm state, they wondered if it was the need for farm labor. I said NO, its not like we grow cotton. I REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY. Well, she said, in florida, we are trying to force all ours out of the state. New voter laws, show your ID, liberal gun laws, stuff like that.
Have you been to Miami, I asked? Is it nice?
OH GOD NO.... WOULD NEVER GO THERE, MINORITIES!!!
The "just passing thru" relatives were real hispanic haters, big time. And I realized such general anti-minority attitudes are core behind efforts to pass laws asking for voter ID, show your ID, stand your ground, and so on.
This new trend in our country, and the push to pass anti-minority laws, are simply born of basic hate and bigotry.
Yeah... words like "bigotry" and "hate" are strong words and people don't like words like that, especially when used to describe them. They prefer softer words. Words more palatable. But a rose is still a rose no matter what you want to call it.
This nationwide push for strict voter ID laws, show your ID laws, new gun laws, stand your ground laws, and the likes are nothing more than attempts under the disguise of protection to show how hateful and bigoted this country is/has become.
Ok, so a lot of citizens are afraid "THOSE PEOPLE" will take over.
My head shaker was how can people claim to be go to Church every Sunday, Bible believing Christians and still hold so much bottled up pure hate?
I don't get it. I don't want to get it.
Maybe Im strange, but when I stand in line at the store behind some hispanic lady at the check out, I share a smile, not the evil eye of death.
What is it with all this heart filled hate? Aren't white folks getting laid enough?
