inaugural B1G championship game fail

really sad, I know if Michigan was in it I would be lineing up at full price. and Sparty wounders why they aren't invited to big bowls

Hmm. That would make it worth the drive.. oh they were trying to sell us the tickets for $45 and its a 4 hour drive.

Do the other conferences that have championships do it at a neutral site?

yes. big 12 did it at a rotating location (though had signed a multi-year deal at jerry world) using NFL stadiums (and the alamo barn). SEC always holds it at the georgia dome. ACC has been in jacksonville, tampa, and now charlotte. they've had trouble selling that out a few times.

Interesting. Downtown is decorated and ready for it and I just drove by a B1G bus on the way back from lunch. I had no idea it wasn't selling well. Of course, our two schools (Indiana and Purdue) suck in football and have no chance at this game, so that may be why.

Don't get me started on the division names. Lamest. Names. Ever.

As far as championship games go...I think they are kinda lame. They are great if you have teams that are tied for conference record and do not have a head to head to settle it. But in this case you have an undisputed winner with MSU being 7-1 in the conference with a head to head win over 6-2 Wisconsin.

There is no need for it. MSU is undisputed champion. The game does nothing for them but lower overall win record if they lose.

Oklahoma is intimitely aware of that situation.

Those are nosebleed section tickets. Seats on the field are going for $300-$400. And even with 9,000 seats available, that's still 54,000 seats filled.

Not saying it's the most popular thing ever, but it's not exactly a complete "meh" either.

Yeah, and trust me, you'd have to pay me that $75 for me to sit in some of the nosebleed seats at the Luke -- the stadium is monstrous.

I'm somewhat surprised, it seems like college football fans usually travel well. I've seen a lot of red in away games for the Badgers, in general.

There are three reasons for this:

1) It's in America's most boring city.
2) Michigan State
3) Wisconson

At least it won't be as bad as this .
