So treat them well.

Last year I got this el cheapo (tm) bike and haven't been taking care of it excatly. I leave it out in the rain, jump off cubs too much etc etc. Well, as I was biking (pretty fast) yesterday, I came across a pothole, so I started to lift the front in order to avoid a big hit and as I lifted, the steering came off!!! and I was in the middle of the street!!! So having no control, and going fast, I paniked and not long after, my bike proceeded with great speed towards the sidewalk, luckily, jsut before it hit (still going fast) I managed to jump off (and land on my feet) while the bike crashed (nearly hit two girls).

So treat your possesions nicely....or else they'll strike back when you least expect it!

Heheh, same thing happened to my bike.
It was a $90 target full suspension special.....

Hehehe I jumped off curbs left and right, did mad stoppies every opportunity, skidded if possible......then when I rode to my liveguarding course, I did a hard stoppie right in front of the rack....maybe 2 1/2 feet in the air, I came down, and my whole front wheel with fork just fell off :Q
Ripped it apart @ the weld joint.......then again stopping 240lb's of rider on the spot isn't exactly a light proposition :)
They replaced it for me free though, that was cool.

That brings to mind the Mayan story of the end of the world. They thought that when it came time for the end of the world (They thought it would be sometime in 2012 incidentally) that all of our tools and technology would come to life and destroy us all. Fun.

<< sorry to hear that your wrecked your bike, but I found that very funny :D >>

Actually, I didn't wreck it. I just had to tighten and lower the steering "wheel" and now its fine. Its raining heavily outside, but I'm too lazy to bring it in :)

Gonna abuse it for another year until it completely deteriorates....
