I just put my 8.4 HD in a Fic AZ11 mobo with a Duron 700. And I get the error message "INACESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE" at startup. Anyone have any ideas how to get rid of this problem. I tried booting in Safe mode but that did not work. I Disabled the virus detection in the CMOS settings but no luck. Any clues? I know the hard drive is okay because in my older Cyrix II 300 it boots fine and I can use the system.

boot from the win2k cd and go into the recovery console and type this

CHKDSK C: /P /R

worked for me, but the cause of my problem may have been different. worth a shot anyway.

win2k probably cannot find its target boot device. check your boot.ini settings
