The greatest advancement to you is a DVR? That scares and saddens me.

If you thoroughly read through my OP, you might have understood.

I was looking forward to all the things that I had set to record during the week I was working away.

Having watched what I had recorded. It is now, fairly insignificant.

I did read it, that's what gets me even more. Think of all the things you need to get to the point of DVRs. Television, cable, satellite, computers, transistors, you could go on and on.

I think you missed the slightly insignificant angle I was coming from in the OP. Perhaps some emotions would have made it clearer.

Also, it seems only a handful of people in this thread interoperated the question in the title correctly.

The way I read it and how I responded is what has IMPACTED me. In order for something to have an impact, it must have happened during my lifetime as there must be a before and an after. I wasn't alive for the wheel or fire or even transistors, but I was alive for the Internet and computers. And computers in and of themselves haven't had near the impact the Internet has had on my daily life.

Google's search technology. With it I have become far more powerful than I had ever imagined. Soon I will become...INVINCIBLE!!
