In your opinion, what technological advancement has had the biggest impact on you?

Off the top of my head, without much thought, I would say Sky+. Sky is a company in the UK that provides a television broadcast service via satellite comms. Sky+ is an advance in the service provided over the original Sky box. It allows you to record T.V. from a program list upto a week in advance (maybe longer I?m not sure), which is possible thanks to the built in hard drive. It also boasts a whole lot of other features too. I?m not sure if Tivo is something similar or not.

I could probably think of a whole pool of other ideas, however, right this minute this is the technological advancement I am most grateful for. Since I work away from home frequently, this service is very beneficial to me.

I?m sure you guys can come up with some more significant opinions (Other than computers and televisions, lol).

Way to pimp your own company 😉

Way back when this guy harnessed electricity. That was pretty badass. The transistor was another good one.

EDIT: For brain fart.

The PC

I started work just before the first IBM PC hit the market, as an accountant they literally changed the way we do business.

Blackberry.

There's people that need therapy (amongst other things hehe) because their hands are so messed up from typing 24/7 on the damn things.

The greatest advancement to you is a DVR? That scares and saddens me.

If you thoroughly read through my OP, you might have understood.

I was looking forward to all the things that I had set to record during the week I was working away.

Having watched what I had recorded. It is now, fairly insignificant.
