Little while back I sold off my IS250 awd due to its miles (139k), since then I have cut back my commute for work from 110 miles a day to 15 miles a day... and after trying a few other cars (Accord, Acura RL, RSX - still have this, Maxima) ended up back with another IS, but this time... the IS350 rwd.

...found an 06' with 65k miles within an hour of me, went and looked at it and it was in amazing condition... ended up getting it for $16k. The extra 1.0 liter over the IS250 is AMAZING!

Yep. Seafoam cleans them reasonably well, and a PCV catch-tanks helps slow the buildup rate dramatically from what I've read.

I can certainly see why you'd notice a difference with 100 more horses and 2 seconds off 0-60. It's like two entirely different cars.

As far as I understand, the carbon build up and related TSB apply to VINs mid-2010 and prior IS250 models.

Pshaw. RWD in the snow is good times. Just get good tires and don't drive like an ass-hat and you'll do fine.
