Little while back I sold off my IS250 awd due to its miles (139k), since then I have cut back my commute for work from 110 miles a day to 15 miles a day... and after trying a few other cars (Accord, Acura RL, RSX - still have this, Maxima) ended up back with another IS, but this time... the IS350 rwd.

...found an 06' with 65k miles within an hour of me, went and looked at it and it was in amazing condition... ended up getting it for $16k. The extra 1.0 liter over the IS250 is AMAZING!

my friend told me is350's have an issue with valve carbon build up due to D.I.

Do the valves just have to be cleaned periodically?

Yep. Seafoam cleans them reasonably well, and a PCV catch-tanks helps slow the buildup rate dramatically from what I've read.

Nice price on that!

Though with only 139K miles and a 15 mile/day commute, that IS250 probably would have lasted you another 10 years 😀

I can certainly see why you'd notice a difference with 100 more horses and 2 seconds off 0-60. It's like two entirely different cars.

As far as I understand, the carbon build up and related TSB apply to VINs mid-2010 and prior IS250 models.

You're gonna hate that car in the snow. But congrats. I've driven both and I agree, the 350 is like a completely different car.

Pshaw. RWD in the snow is good times. Just get good tires and don't drive like an ass-hat and you'll do fine.

before 4wd people used to go to school on two bloody stumps 20 miles

nice car OP! Get some winter tires if your worried.
