so the likely hood of them having G0's are high?

$26 for s/h? Ouch! They better be overnighting that for that much money.

It's $19.98 for ground. Considering they are located in Canada...

$289 at Fry's now .. Shipping is probably less than $10

Newegg is @ $300 for the Xeon X3220 and $329.99 for the Q6600.

It's nice to see competition kicking in a little.

Prices seem to be hanging out in the $330-$290 range with things focused on the $300 price point.

I don't know how well they can be trusted, but the last 2 reviews on the Q6600 at Newegg are saying they they got G0 instead of B3. The price kind of sucks compared to other places, but Newegg does alot of business so they probably go through the old stock pretty fast.

It's pretty clear at this point that there is still a mix of B3 and G0 in the supply chain, so however fast Newegg is spinning through their stock is IMHO irrelevant.

The only ways that I have found to guarantee a G0 are as follows:

1) Purchase from a local retail chain where you can inspect product codes yourself, ~$330 + tax. ETA Now, if available.

2) Pre-order with TankGuys for a reservation fee of $5 (can cancel), $299 + shipping. ETA August 6th.

3) Pre-order with ClubIT (by telephone only), currently $296 but charged at the site price at delivery (free ship). ETA August 1st.

I ordered from ClubIT ... assuming the price stays stable I'm getting a guaranteed G0 with their fastest shipping option for $10 less than Newegg's price. Now, fingers crossed that it heads out the door August 1st!

I preordered from clubit also, with $14 2 d ay shipping which makes it an even $300. mcuh less than newegg and I am guaranteed a G0.

They told me the final charge would be based on the listed web site price at the time of shipping. Did they guarantee you the $300 total? If the price stays at $296, my total will be around $310. It might be a bit more or less than that by the time it actually ships, though.

I ordered from NCIX before the weekend and according to my reciept I have a G0 that should arrive this afternoon or tommorow. The reviews on the site seem to indicate that they're only shipping G0's.
Came to $310 shipped.

Deerhunter: NCIX had me go through a weird security step where they had an automated system call my phone and deliver a pin number that I had to confirm before they would bill my credit card. Perhaps you missed that step or didn't get the email with the instructions?

Prices are moving steadily downward, so I actually prefer to get charged at ship time. In fact, the price is now $295, so I've already saved a buck!

I just preordered a G0 Q6600 from ClubIT; no stock has yet been there of G0s.

Before I called I saw that their 'out of stock' status on the Q6600 had changed
to 'in stock' so I was hopeful they would now have received G0 chips for sale,
but they tell me that they have not yet had any G0s in, and that it could still be
anytime between now and early next month before they get G0s in.

But at least now I don't have to worry about shopping around trying to find
when it's in stock somewhere and playing the price / inventory roulette game
for another 2 weeks.

They are out of stock again, so hopefully some G0s hit the dock today or tomorrow. If my processor ships today, it'll be here the same day as my other parts. I've got a brand new 30" monitor sitting here with nothing to push pixels to it 🙁
