We all know that the 6800 and the x800 series cards are nearly impossible to get due to massive backorders. Use this topic to post links to stores that have them in stock or arriving within one week. Please bump if needed. Thanks!

Have you heard of froogle, pricegrabber, pricewatch, et alli?

Anyhoo, why bother promoting price gouging? X800 Pro, for one, has an MSRP of $399 which means under normal conditions it will probably retail around $350. I see ecost is selling 'em for $359 shipped which isn't bad while supply is still limited.

Considering how many people are looking for these hard to find cards I think this thread is a good idea - maybe it should be in Hot Deals but at these prices (many over MSRP) they aren't exactly hot either. ;)

No thanks on the X800Pro. It's only got 12 pipes and if I go ATI it would only be with the X800XT and I'd prefer a BFG 6800GT or Ultra.

EDIT: BTW, nice of GameVE (LINK) to say the BFG 6800 Ultra costs $599 retail and you "save" $49 with their sale. Freaking scumbag liars... :|

The X800's are over the place in retail shops here in Toronto. It probably has something to do with the cards being distributed from Markham, which is 1/2 hour from Toronto. The 6800GT has probably killed off most of it's demand as well.

The best I've seen is $599CDN, which is approximately $450US. That's extremely overpriced. Usually ATi graphics cards can be had for a song here. I bought an R8500 retail card for $360CDN a few months after it was released.

BBY should have the X800 Pro's available for order through the stores on August 10, through their "Customer Fulfillment" system (basically in-store special order) and BFG 6800GT's should be making their way onto shelves in the very near future. I work at BBY in eastern North Carolina and our district has BFG's on the way with the availability of the X800 Pro's for order being August 10. Call up your local BBY and give them the model number for the particular card and have them search in "RSS" and "Customer Fulfillment." PM me if you want specific SKU's for those cards

Is this a GT or a NU?

Its got 256MB of GDDR3 memory, but it never gives any clock frequencies or says GT anywhere. . . .

Edit - Seems like a GT, Asus specs give a 350Mhz core and 1Ghz memory.

The Asus card is a non-Ultra. It is not a GT. It has the same core speed and memory rating (256Mb DDR3), but it only has 12 pipelines, so think a GeForce X800Pro type card.

Definitely not worth the price that most places are selling these for ($400+).

zoinks, nothing yet on the X800 XT PE. last word i heard from corporate BBY was that they the vendor (ATI) is having supply difficulties. however, i have GOOD news: i just bought my BFG 6800 GT!!!!!! All Best Buy stores in eastern NC I KNOW have at least 2, some 3. I would imagine this is the same throughout most Best Buy stores. If you check the website it will tell you that it is available at most stores. Put in your zip and if it says your store has some, then it most likely does or will have some. Call your store and have them search in "RSS" under the model number "BFGR68256G" and see how many they have. Jump on it, $399 plus tax!!

I went ahead and ordered the Asus card. My CPU is only a 2.4C P4 anyway. Heck, its faster than my current card. :p

Yep, my best buy has gotten several in. The same can be said about CompUSA.

So, it looks like the 6800GT's are plentiful. The x800PROs and the next easiest to get. The 6800Ultras, are not impossible to get either.

The only thing that is impossible right now is the x800 XT PE card. And that is the one I want!!!!!!

Hey, Bateluer, you should check out the thread about softmodding the non-ultras to 16 pipes. You'll have a GT then.

lol, me too. if i could live without vsync i would get a 6800gt which are in stock at best buy, but until nvidia alows us to force triple buffering in opengl it really isn't an option for me.
