In simulated trial; casey anthony retried; hung jury

Reading Comprehension FAIL

She asked the 12 church members who acted as jurors to consider whether it would be right to send Anthony to death row if she did not kill her child.

The church jury was hung, with eight voting guilty and four voting not guilty.

a hung jury is NOT a "not guilty" verdict

and... the church pastor asked "jurors to consider whether it would be right to send Anthony to death row if she did not kill her child." ... this is NOT what she was tried on.

I demand the title be changed to ACCURATELY reflect the article.

I tuned into the trial a couple of times, and I never thought she'd be convicted of murder 1.

She basically admitted to covering up a death and hiding the body, though, and that's all the prosecution really had evidence of. No time of death, she has an airtight alibi; any random minute in her life, "I WAS DRUNK, YO!" with many photos to prove it.

The best thing is, even if she was convicted of murder 1, she'd have appeals up the ass because of a tainted jury. The American "News" Networks turned this woman into a devil in a lust to catch someone who'd kill a cute white kid, and omg, it was a cute white woman! This whole trial was a farce, and I'm glad to be laughing with Jose Baez at the outcome.

It's sad a two-year old died, but hey the world goes on and a bunch of prejudiced folks got smeared with some true-doo.

I agree with most of what you say, but the trial wasn't a farce, I'm glad the jurors did their job appropriately despite the despicable press and potential real danger for themselves.

I don't think the trial was a farce, I think the extraneous reactions to it were. If you tuned in, the judge actually had a very laid back, almost comically disinterested disposition.

if I learned anything from the Casey Anthony trial, I learned that Florida has one judge that treats the cases with the gravitas they warrant: that is pretty heartening in current times.

actually according to news reports, that judge is a well known sleazeball:

Blame the prosecution for not bringing forth marginally lesser charges that could be found reasonable with the evidence at hand.

That, and that alone, ought to be the notable news.

Such law enforcement incompetence is overlooked by the tabloid masses who fed upon the crass storyline.
