This thread

The mods apparently locked that thread and didn't PM me with a reason before I could reply the last message

I did ask about Workmans Comp yesterday to my boss, and he said I need to be out for a minimum of 6 weeks before workmans comp can kick in. And as far as I know, the crane operator did lose his job over it. It appears this wasn't the first time he has caused problems at the same subdivision. A couple bigwigs from the Crane Company came out onsite to see what was happening and seen me bleeding, then told my boss the driver would be taken care of.

As for a lawyer, I do not want to sue anyone (Yet) because I feel my injuries are not severe (Just bumps, bruises and scratches/scraps) But if it comes down to suing someone so I do not go into the hole, I will. I have never in my life sued anyone so I am not treading on familar ground as far as that goes.

I was hoping The Company I work for and the Crane Company would come up with something to compensate me for missing work, but it appears that will not happen :(

Sorry to hear your misfortune, but you're going to have to take legal action if you want compensation. That's what lawyers are supposed to be for....helping those who cannot help themselves. It's not like you're suing McDonalds for making you fat or some other frivolous crap. If you're really hurt, hold them accountable.

Don't rely on your bosses word for it about Workers Comp. Report the injury to Workman's Comp yourself, they should send you to a doctor for evalution, at which point they will decide how long you need to be off work.

Any injuries on the job need to be reported to Workers Comp immediately.

In Calif. workmans comp kicks in immediately if you can't work because of an on the job injury. You need to go to a doctor, paid for by your employer, and he will say whether or not you can work right now. If you can't work because of the on the job injury you should be able to get paid a portion of your wages through workman's comp.

I've been injured on the job several times. I know this is how it works in CA. Check with a workemans comp lawyer to find out what your rights are. It's free and you don't have to sue.

dang, I don't know what happened but I do know crane operators make good jack, sometimes 6 digits. That guy lost a good paying job because of something stupid, probably.

I think after those replys I will contact a lawyer.

I am sorry for asking for Donations, If the page I made was read properly, I was asking for loans, not donations since I did say I would pay it all back when I get back to work. Yes I did use the word donate a couple times as well as Make Donation buttons, Paypal does not have 'Loan' buttons I could use ;)

I think this will be locked too so I want to thank you guys for your insight!
