In PowerDVD do I want to use Pro Logic with 4 channel output?

I have a four channel speaker setup and use PowerDVD to watch DVD's on my computer. There is a four channel output option which I use but then after that there is an option for Dolby ProLogic decoder. I know what pro logic is and how it is just the same through the rear channels but should I select it? Will it give better sound quality? If I just use the Four Channel output am I getting a difference in the two rear speakers? Or even a difference from the front two? I really can't tell all that well, I'm not much of an audiophile and my speakers aren't spread out far enough to help me distinguish. Anyway, do I want to select pro logic decoder or just leave it as four channel output without the pro logic? Does anyone have any recommendations? I could use some help. Does anyone else use PowerDVD with the 4/6 channel options? Thanks...

you can't do a Dolby Digital with the center channel split between the two main speakers?? that's the best option

DPL sounds crummy, it's all washed out....DPL II, however, sounds really nice (full bandwidth to all speakers)

Just leave it set to 4-channel. That downmixes the Dolby Digital 5.1 channels into 4 channels, which you have. You can check the Dolby Pro Logic II on the next configuration page if you want, it really won't make much of a difference because it will only apply that processing to DPL sources - and 95% of DVD's are DD not DPL.
