I believe in the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Yeah, it's amazing how many people find the second amendment to be vague. They'll defend the First Amendment day in and day out and advocate for the broadest interpretation possible. But go one amendment down and it's all "oh, the founding fathers had no idea about the kinds of weapons we would have in this day and age". Yet ironically, while firepower has increased by an order of magnitude, so has the power of words. Speech is more dangerous than ever, but it's worth defending.

People are going to want to kill each other for the foreseeable future, and they're going to get ahold of an efficient or effective way to accomplish that goal, so it seems reasonable to allow others to have access to a suitable means of defense.

I oppose gun ownership because if guns weren't so cheap and easy to obtain we probably would have developed really cool personal weapons like light sabers, phasers, sleep spells, and shit.

Because the theoretical potential for a tool to be misused by an infinitesimal minority of the population is not a valid reason to prohibit the responsible ownership of said tool.

To keep that well-regulated militia in check so they don't decide to abuse the public and erode my liberties.

...but I still don't own one.

...and I have a concealed carry permit.

I'm fine with private ownership of guns. I'm also fine with background checks and closing the loopholes that exist in current gun laws allowing citizens to sell firearms privately completely circumventing the gun laws for new firearms in this country...as though used firearms are somehow less deadly than new ones or it somehow isn't their responsibility to ensure their guns don't end up in the hands of criminals.

I'm against gun owners acting like complete tools and I'm against overly paranoid idiots owning guns but there really isn't any way to legislate against that.

Because private ownership of firearms is retarded, unnecessary and results in deaths.

You're retarded, unnecessary, and the only deaths resulting from responsible gun owners are the people who deserve death: Criminals, thugs and thieves. :colbert:
