In New Procedure, Artificial Arm Listens to Brain

That field is ultimate awesome. Just imagine, that within the our lifetimes, we'd see something closer to what we saw in Star Wars with the artificial hands and such.

That is pretty amazing.

Yes it is. And with the advances we are making in respect to the size of computers and electronics, I would assume before long that big flap jacket she is wearing will go away. Cylons 🙂

i went to a design conference in about 1983 where they had an Australian robot-
designer/artist named Stelarc with a 3rd arm that he controlled using nerve-endings
on his stomach.

as part of his talk, he wrote a nine letter word on the whiteboard - his left arm wrote
the first 3 letters, his right arm wrote the second 3 letters, and the robot arm would
wrote the last 3 letters.

but in StelArc's case, he had a lifetime training in biofeedback etc.

i'm glad it's commercially available.

No, you have it backwards. They need to disconnect those two from each other.

That won't stop them from making sound/verbalizing.

A mouth in drive with the brain in park should not be allowed! 😛
