In Man vs Wild, isn't the camera man doing the harder job?

I have been watching man vs wild recently, and it occured to me that no matter how harsh the conditions are for the main guy, the camera man has it even worse. The camera man has to lug around a camera all the time, which makes one hand not free. On top of that he has to carry an equipment bag.

Whenever they are climbing, crossing a fast moving stream, running, sneaking around or whatever, the camera man has a much harder job. Both his hands are not free, so doing all that is even harder.

Although, I am pretty sure there 2 guys with him, because in one episode, they are walking across a stream, and the camera man slips and the main guy says "Watch out guys".

well not really.
when he gets into ice water and such the camera stays put.
sometimes he obviously has his own mini cam.
the support dudes probably have extra equipment/safety ropes whatever and a full set of safety equipment.

except the cameraman gets plenty of real food and doesn't squeeze elephant dung water into his mouth
