Even worse is that multiple reviewers are saying it spins up when playing HD content and definitely distracts from the movie experience.
This is why hard numbers are much better than "sounds quiet" and why doing noise "comparisons" are a waste of time.
Better that than being the haiku queen of ATF.but then you are the 'noise princess' of ATF![]()
Both Sapphire and VT evidently used the reference cooler for my x1950p - yet the VT was much better made [imo] and quieter
the x850xt/7800gsOC/x1950p are louder at max revs than my VisionTek HD2900xt ... that is all i can reference to in the cards that i have owned in the last 6 months
and what i hear right now is "all gpu" ... i have no CPU fan ... just a side case fan and the 2900xt ... not the slightest bit annoying
i think it is irresponsible to say that r600 is louder than g80 ... it *depends* on the Partners specific cooling choices and probably the quality of the fan itself
and i though i already posted an answer to this
-damn 4x6 ... probably in my FS/T thread

that would be very good ... and maybe someone else will want to try variations on Key's rig .. it's all goodI can re-run anything to see if the 4 meg cache makes a difference, I have an E6600 that I can run at whatever speed Keys benches at.
