In Game Mouse Problems

I have been having a problem for the past few weeks now and
i absolutely cannot figure it out!

i started out with my old logitech cordless optical and when playing
wolfenstein enemy territory about every 5 minutes in the game
my mouse would just lag real bad or point in a direction by itself

i tried fresh batteries, moving the receiver closer, ps2 and usb ports,
logitech and ms mouse drivers.

i ordered a new mx700 logitech mouse and i have the same
problems with that. i went back to a corded mouse and still have
the same problem!

i uninstalled and reloaded the game and that didnt help!

this just started like 2 weeks ago right out of the blue!
i overclock my system but it has been running stable since i built
it over a month ago so i dont think that would cause any problems?

my onboard sound connectors are defective so im wondering if
that is related somehow or if the mouse port is bad? but it works
perfect in windows and i have tried both the usb and ps2 ports
and both do work.

i am going to install a different game and see what happens while
playing that.

but if anyone has any ideas i would really appreciate your help!

I FIXED THE SONOFABITCH!!!


its about time i got this figured out!
i did a windows repair and i got it working fine again....
or at least i hope it stays that way!
