In-ear canal buds for small ear canals?

Hello,

So I have been on a search to find good in-ear canal buds for a while now. I originally had sony cheapo in-ear and even on the smallest they didn't really fit (I'd have to push them in every once and a while). I then tried Apple and they were worse and really ended up hurting my canals. So I was ready to get Shure e2c's but I think I may have the same problem. Does anyone know of any good sets? Or am I screwed with earbuds for the rest of by life? I really don't like over the ear headphones because they make my ears really hot. Thanks

Well...with the e2c's, you'll get a "fit kit" that has all sorts of different pieces for you to try in your ear. I'm pretty sure out of everything they give you at least one of these would fit comfortably in your ear.

I have this problem too which makes buying headphones and bluetooth difficult. What I really liked was the Koss Sparkplug's. Yeah, they're not the most stylish but they fit my ears good and actually have good sound. Just be aware, they're very fragile and if you wear them to the gym by having your mp3 player in your pocket and running the wire under your shirt, the material used to make wire insulation sticks to your body.

having your ears hurt after wearing earbuds means that...

1. The buds were loose (lots of people who wear the Bose earbuds have this problem and it results in your ears hurting).

and/or

2. The volume is too loud.

what's your budget?

I picked up a pair of SE530s on ebay using the 35% coupon a week n half ago and got them for the sweet sweet price of $200. I've never worn any earbuds this comfortable but the bud itself is on the big side so...

I have a pair of Ultimate Ears super.fi 3 studios and while they are expensive ($90 from newegg) they sound excellent and come with multiple ear plugs.

NOTE: I consider the Shure's and the Ultimate Ears to be PLUGS not buds.

These are buds. The ear pieces that come with an iPod are buds.

I almost X'd out of responding because I don't use buds at all.

I have this same problem. I've tried my friend's shure's (too big), and I bought my own Ultimate Ears 3, and even the smallest custom ear thing is too big. I don't know if I have wack ears or something but even the custom ones are all way too big.

I missed this part. Are you sure your ear canals are too small? I had a problem with my UEs popping out and the sound going tinny all the time. I tried the double flange and the smallest ones they packaged thinking I wasn't getting it far enough into the canal because I had small canals.

Then I tried the biggest and the problem went completely away. They don't slip out anymore.

yea, if you are on a very tight budget, the $25 IEMs (in ear monitors) don't come with the tips you're looking for. As was mentioned, ultimate ears and other high end brands do. If you're looking around $100 I suggest looking into the UE superfi 3 and etymotic erp6i. The latter is more detailed, but not bass plentiful. The included foam eartips will probably be a good match for your ear.
