I have an EPOX ep-akda3j. This is my second one, the first one completely died one night and I had to RMA it. I got this new one just like 3 weeks ago and it has been fine until now. All of the USB ports all either dead now, or randomly work at times with only various devices. I can?t stand it anymore. Unless someone has a solution to this USB problem, could I please be recommended a new, VERY STABLE AND RELIABLE mobo for my system?! I don't OC, so all I want is an inexpensive, stable 754 socket board from a known company with great customer service. Thanky you very much.

I've tried a lot of mobo in my years of computing. But so far, the most stable mobo I have used are those made by Gigabyte. They are not the fastest nor are they the slowest. But they are stable as a rock. The next most stable will be Abit and then Asus. These two are actually more expensive but they are also fast and OC'able! The worst mobo I ever used is ECS and the followed by Epox. They are just so unstable, I waste more time troubleshooting and re-installing. Try this link Mobo 754 I will not even consider the Via chipsets. Instead focus on the Nforce 4 chipset mobo. The only disadvantage is that it uses PCI-e. I'm not sure what your exisiting graphic card is but if it is PCI-e you're on the roll. If it is AGP, then you might want to check Abit and Asus.

is that athlon64 3000+ a 754 or 939? Check out Asus boards. if it's a 754, the k8v-se deluxe is a good board, as is the k8n-e deluxe. if 939, have a serious look at the a8v deluxe revision 2... fits your requirements nicely.

What does epox have to say about it? Have you looked at their FAQ or other tech info? What devices do you have connected to USB?
. Are there many of them? Are many powered from the USB and not self-powered? If so, consider using a powered hub. On board ports have limited power capacity.
