By all means, let's keep riding the sinking rowboat until W can can figure how to get that other oar in the water.

He has to actually take the boat out of the desert first.

How could you not say he's great? Under his leadership our economy could have floundered much worse, but my parents have become extremely wealthy.

Okay...What says it would have gotten worse? That is just engaging in speculation. Oh, and just because your parents did well doesn't mean that economic preformance is good.

He won the war in Iraq, and the insurgency has been in its last throes for awhile.
He won the war? Crap I thought that was soldiers who did the fighting. On top of it, the insurgency has been "in its last throes" for HOW LONG NOW? They won't give up till we are out of their country

He started the department of homeland security, which has added a very necessary labrynth of bureacracy to the maze of our many defensive apparatus's.
You mean add more BLOAT and BUREACRACY. Bigger gov= BAD.

He managed to get a lot done -- he signed a monumental transportation bill -- allowing a vitally important bridge to be built in alaska.
That bill had more pork than anything else. Btw, "vital bridge in alaska" to be built...hehehe.

qHe's managed to fund big drug companies while providing a little bit of benefit to the eldery
.
He has proven we don't live in a capitalist system. IF a comany should die and flounder he saves them over and over again. Furthemore giving billions to Pharma industry doesn't mean it is helping US.
He's proven that deficits don't matter.
That will bite us back later, but he won't be care~ he will be dead by then

And most importantly, he's managed to beat back the voices of democrats. He's marginalized their repeated calls for reform on Iraq policy.
So basically he it is "your way or the highway". Thats wonderful, the leader of the USA can't compromise.
He has their idea of humbly and agressively encouraging more countries to join a more powerful coalition in Iraq unacceptable.
Prove this is unacceptable. How and why is it unacceptable.
He has beaten back their plans to wastefully provide healthcare to the uninsured.
No he didn't...that was defeated back in Clinton's early tenure. Furthermore, how is providing billions of dollars to the Pharma industry any different from helping give people insurance?
He has managed to make democratic solutions to the african american unemployment rate of 10.9% unnecessary through powerfully spoken rhetoric.
Rhetoric and only rhetoric

It is time for americans to wake up and see the president as a true hero. A hero brave enough to stand up for his ideals during times of national crisis, brave enough to fight a war, to call out the axis of evil, to demonstrate a profound respect for the downtrodden elites of this country.

I defend the president on these grounds.[/quote]

Your post is full of guilded vocabulary designed to inspire some kind of non existant patriotic zeal.

He never fought a war. Rather the war we fought WE started...its so bad people have to make up ridiculous technicalities that "we are still at war with them". The "Axis of Evil" is nothing more than a catch phrase that tried to make people beleive these countries were as strong, powerful, beligereent (sp?) as Japan and Germany of yore.

No, Bush is a horrible mediocre president.

I admit I've liked some of his policies...

BUT...not being a fiscal conservative and his socially regressive morals keep him from being on my good list.

Hehe. You can tell who the people are who don't bother to read any of the thread (or OP really) before the they jump in with their "reaction."

Hey Dave,

I've been busy at work, they just fired 3 managers at my plant; only 4 of us to look after over 100 people. Plus our volumes are going up 40% next year, lots of work needed to get the wheels turning on that.

Also out visiting friends in Toronto, Guelph, London, Kingston and Ottawa.

I hope to get into posting again, so have no fear...voice of reason will be back in P&N soon!! 😉

Happy posting.

I'm an undergrad engineering student...what do you think 😀 With that said generally I read a post, skim a few, and then right a reply...then after that I promptly feel guilty for spending my time and go back to my studies 😉 Though on a side note, I was told by many friends I study too much so the past few days I've been trying to relax more 😉

And if it currently affects my outlook on life, well what am I to do...weren't you the one who said your last two years of undergrad a blur?😉 Mine maybe convoluted, but atleast i remember things...for now 😀

7. Said Fsch social security.

I wish more people would have agreed with him. Social Security, as it is, is a very poorly run program.

I enjoy the sarcasm of the OP. I always get a kick out of the people that never sense the sarcasm and post without reading the rest of the thread.* 😀

*Don't worry; I've done it too.

Has anyone been to Iraq for a vacation trip yet???

All beach, no ocean.
Get a passport and quit listening to the US indoctrination centers.

There are many beautiful places on the planet including in the "Sand Lot" middle east.

Sure there are, but IRAQ has only about 20 miles of shoreline on the Persian Gulf -which in scope is not an 'Ocean'

Much more 'Beach' to the entire West and Southwest.

I think Bush would be a cool guy to hang out with.

People need to distinguish the person, politics and electorate pressures.

If I only made nice with the people with similar beliefs and thoughts as me; i'd be a lonely man.
