In DC for the weekend

Was supposed to take a trip with the wifey, but no longer married so I'll be flying out tomorrow by myself. My mom and her husband are joining me for 2 days, so we'll tool around town. Where should I go at night?

Edit - I'm at Rossyln in Arlington. What a weird weekend it's gonna be. Day time stuff will be filled with sight-seeing.

Where in DC? There's some good bars around the colleges, depending on how late you're going out. There's also theaters, and you can always check out the monuments, some look pretty good at night.

I remember there being a nice piano bar near Georgetown.

Im actually staying in VA next to Arlington. So, I'm right across the river.

I'm north of the cematary so I"m right by Georgetown.

Guess I'll repost this tomorrow. Should have expected nothing from the late crew.

fine.. you want a real answer..

DC After Dark

it's amazing what 2 seconds on google can find..

1. That link didn't work.
2. I'd rather get a person's recommendation than a tour or travel website. A lot of smaller places are a billion times cooler than some grand resort.

in DC? nowhere... the place turns into a crackden after dark.

try maryland or something

Isn't The Wire shot in Maryland? No way in hell I'd go there at night 😛

That's Baltimore 😉

Georgetown would probably be your best bet and it's closeby. Full of nightlife.

What kind of stuff would you like to do? There's Adams Morgan, Dupont, Georgetown, K Street, etc. Adams Morgan and Logan Circle are more music oriented bars and dance clubs. K Street has some very fancy lounges. Georgetown has some nice restaurants and a neat old colonial feel. Dupont is just a mix of all of those. U St. has alot of jazz and blues clubs.

DC isn't nearly as bad as people portray it at night as long as you're not roaming around alone in the Southeast or Northeast.

I'll probably be cabbing it for the most part, and I'll probably explore each little nightlife area I guess. I might catch a Nationals game tomorrow.

All pretty good replies. I would add the Chinatown area as well.

Adams Morgan offers a little too much of the college crowd in my opinion but is still one of "the" places to be in the city for a good time.
