Where are you now and when are you leaving, and from where (midway or ohare)

I'd say the main drag would easily fill up a morning.
Go to millenium park, walk across the bridge and see Cloud Gate (the bean) then walk over to the Art Institute, one of the best museums in the country. If that's not to your liking, take a cab to the Field museum from in front of the bean.

It will be afternoon before you know it.

Just came back, I had asked someone iabout where to take a long relaxing walk to and check some things out, he recommended I hit Taylor street and see what's up there.
Might not be the best spot in Chicago, but it was a decent walk, got to talk to some people and check the area out, plenty of students there from UIC it seems.

If you're into art, check out the new Modern Art wing:
http://www.artic.edu/aic/colle...ons/modernwing/visitor

If you're feeling adventurous you can hop on the EL and come out to the different neighborhoods. The loop is ok but there's not a lot going on there comparatively. There's a great bakery next to a kick ass vintage/new guitar shop if you're a music guy. On Lincoln street, take brown line north to paulina and step off and you're there. The bakery is called Dinkels ( http://www.dinkels.com/ ). Awesome baked goods and breads and decent coffee. The music store is called Chicago Music Exchange and it's well worth checking out.

Alternatively you could go check out Chinatown or Argyle if you feel like Chinese or Vietnamese food respectively, both on the red line (cermak for chinatown, argyle for vietnamese).

Kinda touristy but the new glass box at the Willis (Sears) Tower is supposed to be cool.

So, I had a business meeting today in Chicago (at Hotel Sax), I came from Dayton, quiet a drive I must say.

I just came back to my hotel and instead of heading back to Dayton right away, I have decided to stay another day in this beautiful city and leave late afternoon tomorrow, kind of giving myself a break day here . This is my first time here and I am not familiar with the city almost at all.

What would be something nice to check out in the evening ? (it's 9:20 PM right now)
Also tomorrow (in between morning and late afternoon).

Thanks
DK

Old Towne is a great area, you could check that out, or just play it safe and stroll up and down Michigan Aveneue. Find a good hot dog place, I reccomend finding a Portillos.

what are the absolute must-see's in one day?

also, is the architecture cruise worth it? how about the Hop-on Hop-off Tour?
