My guess is they have a alarm that goes off when the glass is broke since to many kids play with the fire hose like most of us would. 😉
 
Throw a chair through the door on the fire extinguisher/hose cabinet.
After the fire's out, go back and get the key and take it, and the free lock, home.
 
This reminds me of a site that took signs (mainly emergency) and made funny descriptions out of them. It was hilarious... This reminds me of that.

The other "glass" is plastic. It does not look like it will easily break. You may be able to dislodge it, but I am not sure that it will move out of your way.
