What's the simplest way to backup the address book and e-mails in Outlook Express? Also, how would you copy the "favorites" list in IE 5 or 5.5? Thanks for the help guys!

For Outlook, search for where your folders are saved, and just take that who folder (Outlook Express) and save it somewhere.

In MS Outlook, you can go to File>Import/Export and export all your contact info, calendar info, and messages to a .pst file.

To back up your Favorites, simply go to C:\Windows and copy the Favorites folder.

Thanks everyone, I've got my "favorites" list and the address book saved. However when trying to export my messages it states that it will export them to Outlook or Exchange. I don't have either of those. Any other ideas would be appreciated?

EDIT: Would *.dbx files contain my messages? I found several of them buried in windows.

Yepper, these are the files you want:

Folders.dbx
Inbox.dbx
Offline.dbx
Outbox.dbx
Pop3uidl.dbx
cleanup.log

Just copy the whole "Outlook Express" folder from:
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{4CD73EC0-B01A-11D4-B769-F8ADB19F0E33}\Microsoft

When you reinstall, just replace put all these files in that directory.
