in CA, why do cop cars drive in a zig zag at 10mph no the freeway?

I've seen this numerous times. I've seen cop cars drive in a zip zag fashion on the freeway when there is no accidnet or anything.. They drive in a zig zag and it prevents cars behind the cop from goin because he/she is regulate the amount of traffic. do cops do this because they think they're cool or something?

get close to him and when he zig to the other side slam on the gas and pass him, when he pulls u over, u can ask him why he was doing zig zag

Imagine a couch got dropped in the middle of the freeway.. how are they going to remove the couch from the freeway when there are cars flying by at 70+mph? The cop put a break in the traffic about 5-10 miles away so a cleaning crew could quickly get in there and remove the couch. Or a car break down in the middle of the freeway and needed to be escorted to a safe place by the side of the freeway. You name it.. that's why they do it.

That's a neg.. The freeway i've seen had nothing goin on b4 i came across the cop. I was on the opposite divider of the cop and before the cop, there wasn't any activity going on for the past 10 miles i'd say..

It's called a Round Robin. It is used to create a safe opening for someone to remove debri off the freeway.

sometimes there is a motorcycle accident/organ donor,that needs to be scraped off the road.🙁

A motorcyclist was killed on 787-North.

Authorities said a 26-year-old man was getting on 787 North when he ran into the cement wall on either side of the on-ramp. The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

No other information is being released at this time because the man's family has not yet been notified

Two separate accidents occurred within minutes on the Thruway.{Moron,that wrote this did not know it was "freebie"I 90,not the toll road

East Greenbush fire officials said a motorcyclist popped a wheelie and lost control of his bike after Exit 9. Ten minutes later, another accident between two cars occurred in the same location.

Two accidents occur within minutes on the Thruway.


The motorcyclist was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center with a possible fractured left ankle. State Police said vehicle and traffic violation charges are pending against him.

The others in the second accident refused medical treatment and were released
