In Alabama, saying the bible is only "partly true" is attack-ad worthy

I like the fact that many bibles have tissue thin pages. They make for excellent toilet paper. I just go to random churches and collect them. It's a win/win when you think about it. The churches feel as though they have gained a new follower, and I get an unlimited supply of toilet paper. Everyone knows this.

A Christian fundamentalist and a serious biblical scholar (Christian or not) would be incapable of having a debate per se on very many things at all other than such derivative topics as ethics. They would certainly be incapable of truly debating anything about the Bible! 😀

And no, the Christian fundamentalist would not have their mind blown. They are well inoculated against such growth experiences.

Silly me, I tried that strategy in the last motel I stayed at, them damn Gidion bibles have too thick pages to be worth anything as toilet paper. I ended up irritating my own rear end to no end, no wonder I am so cranky.

As for theflyingpig, why should we worry about which end up he is buried, dead is dead after all. Maybe we should read the biblical parable about the good smarten, and ask, would even the good smarten pick up a barely alive theflyingpig, after discovering an ass up flyingpig lying at the side of the road with an ink stained asshole?

Maybe the phrase to cover that would be yeeeeeeeeech, too gross to contemplate, even for the most compassionate good smarten.

Agreed. Hopefully he will have his arse handed to him in the gubernatorial primaries like the last few times. The day he gets to hold another high office in this state is the day I seriously start considering a move to Mississippi...

In the back of my mind has always been the thought that fundamentalists know they are basing their entire life on a lie, but are too afraid to let go.

In a bit of a contradiction, I've always figured they think the same about me.
 
I think Alabama has crossed my mind not 50 times in my life. They would be 3rd world if they weren't in the us

I have lived in the South all of my life, 50+ years. Most of this time was in NOLA which was not too bad from an obesity perspective. The past 15 years have been in Alabama and I can tell you obesity is a very real and serious problem. I call it like I see it. We have a problem!

LOL, you have no clue. In Mississippi 1 in 4 adults there are massively obese. Not my number but the CDC. A very large percentage is still very fat if not quite massively obese. Meaning many people there still have a bit of a beer belly or a little extra junk in the trunk. Very, very, very few people there would be considered skinny as an adult. So it is not exactly a generalization.

How is it any more acceptable among those who dislike the south to dismiss mississippians as ignorant and obese than to dismiss blacks as being generally violent?

Whether it's true or not, it's reminiscent of high school simply to judge everyone by stereotypes. It seems to me the left is always crying out not to subject people to a generalization, even if it is statistically supported.
 
You know I actually care less about the oil spill because it affects the south. Now if it wraps around the eastern seaboard and attacks my precious NYC then we will have problems. I just don't care about the south, they have nothing to offer me and if they wanted to leave the country I would be happy.

I know the south say the same about California but lets face the facts, California works hard and makes the fed a nice amount of money. The south is just a basket case with a negative impact on the overall productivity of the country and they complain about the liberals states who make all the money buahahahaha.



I'm still boycotting bp though...
 
UPDATE: Oh, this just got even better. The attack ad basically says "Brad Byrne is not an idiot" and his response is "How dare they! I'm a proud idiot!"
