Im usually at work for 6hr shifts, id have to say that i only do about 2 or less hrs of real work. The office where I work is really laid back, everyone here is the same way....but howbout you guys?

Do you work at the U-M? I do too. In a 6 hour shift, I generally do 5.5 hours of work. I don't even get a lunch break! :(

But it pays well.

thank God!

I'm an intern at a large company (typical office setting, I'm a BUS major and I dig this stuff) and while I do INTERESTING and fun stuff (call up, negotiate contracts, work up releasing/site plans, etc.) I honestly don't do over 3 hours work in a 8-10 hour shift. Somedays it's like 1 hour or less or work! I was thinking "wow I must be so lazy!" but then I began to realize everyone here was about the same way...I mean we're not lazy, we get the job done, but I'm just here WAY longer than my work takes me to complete!

It pays well and I'd rather be bored (or on ATOT) than stressed, but I mean I could come in for 3-4 solid hours and get everything done and peace out. Why can't we do that?!

Some days I may barely have time to eat lunch but others I might do half an hour of work total if I am lucky. There are so many in between days but I surely have a lot of slow days.

Most people don't do anywhere near 8 hours of work, in my experience. Most of the time it's simply because you don't get enough work to fill up 7-8 hours with work.

Depends...
80% of the time - 2hrs in 8hrs
10% of the time - 4hrs in 8hrs
5% of the time - 8hrs in 8hrs
5% of the time - 10+hrs in 10+hrs --> no fvcking overtime

Here is my every day schedule.

Get in the office at 7am or sometimes 7:30am.

7:00am - 8:30am = surf the net till people start getting in.

8:30am -9:30am check to see what I have on my plate today and email. Mostly nothing.

9:30am -11:00 - Try to do something constructive. If not any, surf internet and when bored walk around to the different floors.

11:00-11:30am = Still either walking around or surfing the net

11:30am - 1:15 = lunch

1:15 = 2:30 = Try again to find something to do and if there is any try to actually wori. Mostly again nothing to do.

2:30 -3:00 = Surf the net

3:00pm = End of day and leave work

My job is so f*cken boring and stressful with all the dumb people that I have to work for.
I need a f*cken new job.

As Peter Gibbons says... "In a given work week, I'd say I do fifteen minutes of actual work."

But seriously... Isnt that really boring for you guys just to do nothing all day? Working makes the day go faster for me.....
