In a Dilemma as to which game to get next...

Just finished Grand Theft Auto 4 and I'm trying to decide what game to get next.

For the most part, I just play single player modes with a lil' bit of online playing.

I read that LBP's fun factor relies more on the online component since it's a lotta fun to play other people's levels as well as creating your own.

Although, MGS4's lengthy story mode sounds tempting in the sense that it'll hold me over for awhile.

Just lookin' for a few opinions...

update

ended up buyin MGS4 on ebay for 29.

update 2

Just beat MGS4!

Damn the ending was awesome. Great way to tie up the whole series.

MGS4 is like watching an interactive movie, it's a single person experience. LBP is a multi-player game.

I don't mind multiplayer. It's just that, will I have the "equivelent" amount of fun if I play with people online as opposed to playing with friends?

LBP is the shit.I bought it and it is a blast playing on other people's levels.
Get LBP first then get MGS4

my opinion is that both of those games are not worth it.

i owned MGS4 and sold it before beating it, and i played the beta of LBP and that was more than enough for that game.

if you want a solid, fun, pretty lengthy single player game with a fun story, check out Ratch and Clank. it's fun to replay that game too because you keep your upgraded weaopns and can continue to upgrade them, as well as find the hidden weapons.

If you are a fan of the MGS series than you definitely must give MGS4 a try. If you're not a fan of the cutscene-heavy 'interactive movie' experience than stay far away.

LBP has a lot to offer if you like platforming, but I find I can only play it in small increments and haven't even finished it yet. It is cool to hop on the community section and play other people's levels. I find the gameplay is somewhat broken at times, though, because you can get stuck and also switching between the three planes of environment (foreground, middleground, background) doesn't always work well.

This is more or less true for MGS4 as well. 🙂 You can essentially play a New Game+, but you have to get to a certain point at the beginning before you get all of your stuff back. There are a ton of unlockable weapons that can be customized a la COD4.
