This retarded representative says Democratic House-members are being forced to choose between Israel and the President of the United States. While I am no fan of Obama, I will always choose our president over a foreign country. I now ask the same of you. Who will you support?

'King' of Israel

Rep. Pete King says President Obama's weak Mideast policy is forcing House Democrats to make the difficult choice of either supporting Obama or supporting Israel.

"I hope they put our relationship with Israel above their relationship with Obama," King (R-LI) said yesterday.

Flanked by Jewish community leaders at a press conference across from the United Nations, King rallied support for his legislation calling for the US to quit the UN Human Rights Council and its probe of the Israeli raid May 31 on a flotilla off Gaza.

Not a single House Democrat, including the entire New York City delegation, would sign on to that resolution introduced by King last week.

But King found Dems and Jewish leaders back in the city who also don't trust the UN council, which regularly bashes Israel.

He was joined at the press conference by Democratic Assemblymen David Weprin and Rory Lancman, Rabbi Joseph Potasnik and Jewish community leader Jeffrey Wiesenfeld.

"When the president goes abroad and apologizes for America, he is not making it clear that we are on Israel's side," King said. "I am concerned that not a single Democrat will go on the bill unless we take out the language about the UN."

King has said that voicing support for Israel without taking on anti-Israeli forces within the US would be "meaningless, feel-good legislation."

The Israeli raid on the flotilla that challenged the Jewish state's naval blockade of Hamas-controlled Gaza resulted in the deaths of nine pro-Palestinian activists on the ships.

Several House Democrats, including Rep. Mike McMahon (D-SI) and Rep. Steve Israel (D-LI), are working on an alternative resolution that vows support of Israel but does not penalize the UN.

Meanwhile, the White House called Israel's proposal for a public commission to investigate the flotilla raid "an important step forward."

Who I would chose would depend on who I felt was right, but hyperbole by politicians and their faithful is cheap.

I'll wait for the Apocalypse then decide.

I wouldn't change my foreign policy preferences just because one of our Presidents held a different position. I don't see why I, or anybody else should either.

It would obviously depend on the situation, but I can't think of a plausible situation that could occur that could start making me support Israel over the USA.

Obama thinks Israel is trash. Rev Wright thinks Israeli Jews are fakes and that blacks are the real Jews. The guy who got Obama into Harvard thinks the same thing (and he thinks its ok with God to cut their noses off). Ayers and Wright think Isralies create apartheid and are illegit. Of course Obama was good friends with Rashid Khalidi who was agent of the PLO. It was totally predictable Obama would throw Israel down the well.

Obama's nutty anti-Semitic Harvard sponsor

Why is Israel the only country that gets everyone to ignore loyalty to the US? Imagine if this question was asked re Mexico.

Doesn't matter if there are fake jews in the holy city. What matters is that there are real ones there also. I will go with Israel.

It is not loyalty to Israel. It is our opposition to Islamic terrorism.

For the poll. I'm not sure, because it depends on the nature of the issue on which we'd take sides.

You must have missed the feel sorry for BP's British shareholders thread. There is a contingent here who will side with anyone against America if it hurts Obama.

Depends on who crated the crisis.

Exactly.

Barack Obama is not dictator of America.

During the 2nd intifada the CIA trained and armed the PNA. These same soldiers then turned on Israeli and used the training they received from the US against civilians.

US is now spending 100 million a year on bankrolling a Palestinian military in Jordan. According to the IDF, the cooperation between PNA/Israel security forces is "great", but it would only take one leader to order the PLO against Israel again.

Narmer's poll is inherently based on a false premise and screams appeal to authority.

This same bullshit was used during the Iraq War: Who do you support, our President or the terrorists?!111

Barack Obama has proven himself to be very pro-Muslim and Arab, which explains his support for Operation Scorched Earth and accelerating assassination programs in Afghanistan - even though he is "personally" against assassinations.

More often than not US-Israel opinion is almost identical except for the settlements. A better gauge on US/Israel relations is not the POTUS but constituents which are represented by Congress.

Barack Obama is one man.

Israel has put up with a lot of our shit that most Arab nations react to with terrorism and violence. The most Jews do is write an angry letter accusing critics of antisemitism.
