Improved nForce video planned?

Let me say, I'm quite pleased with my nForce2 motherboard, including the onboard GF4MX-440SE. (My mobo even has dual VGA.)

But is there something in the works? Something DX8 or DX9 compliant and 2-3x faster than the current GF4MX?
I'd like to stick with nForce - it's stable, fast, economical and compact!

Bravo for nForce! I knew way back with "Crush" it would be awesome! :D

for nforce2. I wouldnt think they they would want to do that since the chipset itself is for an older amd cpu so its a narrow market. Expecialy since most people are now buying A64 when chosing to build or rebuild a system.

anyways just seems a bit odd is all ;)

Nvidia 5200 is NOT 2-3 times faster than a GF4 mx-440 (I don;t think) Even if it is, it is ther sorriest excuse for a video card. Get a Radeon 9100 of the sub $70 is your range, a 9600pro for $150 range or a Radeon 9800pro for the $200 range.

Presumably the new video subsystem could also be integrated with the NForce3 150/250, so it's not a total dead-end. AthlonXP chips and motherboards are also still selling pretty briskly (due to their very low prices right now).

Yep, nV is working on the IGP1 DirectX 9.0 Graphics CK8-04 Companion Chip but wether it will be a FX5200 plugged into the mainboard and use system memory as frame-buffer, or a specifically designed chip that operates via a special bus isn't known yet. The pressure is on to produce a sweet IGP board though because ATI is working on a IGP for AMD64 :D While IGP is still no where near ready to be a real gaming solution, the A64's gaming performance with it's low latency memory access and the new IGP will hopefully show an even larger performance jump than going from the g2MX IGP platform to G4MX IGP platform did.

ATI's AGP must be that 9600IGP I heard rumours about.... that'd be pretty sweet for onboard video.

The real disappointment would be if nVidia chooses to use the 5200 as a base for integrated video. Read the reviews, the 5200 is barely better than the MX-440 it replaces! Well... I suppose it supports those DX9 features, even if it is the same speed as the MX440.....

Of course, ATI's 9100IGP isn't as good as it should be either! technically a Radeon 9200 should be noticably faster than an MX440 but the benchmarks put them about equal. (At least the 9100IGP is DX8.....)

I think there should be decent IGP's on every system, so everyone can expect at least a halfway-decent gaming experience. Let's face it, a GF4MX-440 isn't too bad of a 3D card - no, it's no Radeon 9800XT but it's enough to run a 3D game and have it run at a reasonable speed with reasonable quality.

An onboard 9600 would perform about the same as low-end 9600np's do now, which is respectable. And a $100 video card integrated into the motherboard adds real value to those on a budget. (Of course, the AMD64 is not a cheap CPU either....)
