I'm with the OP on this one.

They've probably outsourced (overseas) the box design. That version of english makes perfect sense to them. Nobody at the parent company is smart enough to have caught the error. Too busy figuring the value of their stock options.

Hell, our president can barely speak english.

Naturally flavored.....as in not artificially flavored.

yes, but the adverb has to go directly before the object. Like, Naturally Flavored Yogurt Coating.

What, a major company printed that on millions of boxes. Isn't that news?

What if McDonald's accidentally printed "McDonald's, I have loving it!" on every bag and box they sell?

You're complaining about this here, the HOME of improper grammar? ATOT - where "there house is loosing it's shingles" is considered to be acceptable English.

So, I just bought like, 20 boxes of that Yogurt Burst Cheerios cereal, because it tastes really good, and of course, it was on sale. Anyway, as I was enjoying it one morning, I got to reading the box. Right at the bottom in big bold print it says:

Sweetened Whole Grain Oat Cereal with a Naturally Yogurt Flavored Coating

What on earth??? I have tried for hours to contemplate some meaning of what this says.

Does it mean they are naturally coated? Are they naturally flavored, but, what, the yogurt, the coating, the flavored????? What are they talking about? Did the job of marketing get outsourced to China too?

So, I did some research, and googled a picture of one of these cereal boxes. It came up with an older box design. And guess what it says....

It says:

Sweetened Whole Grain Oat Cereal with a Naturally Flavored Yogurt Coating

What is going on here? They made a revision of their box design, and then totally botched it? Or what?

Please, help me to understand this strange phenomenon.

It means that the cerial is naturally yogurt flavored... it comed that way right from the wheat farm. they dont have to add it or anything.

Yes, but the question "What has the world come to?" has cultural and literary roots. Naturally Yogurt Flavored Coating does not. And, it makes no sense.

I concur that "Naturally Yogurt Flavored Coating" does not make sense.

The one that really drives me crazy is the use of "your" instead of "you're".
