Awesome! I wish I could do stuff like that. Been playing around with Blender but it's not easy to pickup that app at all, but I've seen the things that can be done with it and it's crazy.

Was that choppy for anyone? I think something with my PC is screwed up. For one, my sound in games is horrible and very scratchy, and lately it seems when I watch flash videos the same thing happens.

while it was good. A lot of the effects relied overly heavily on blurring for my taste (The fact that pretty much every scene had the camera focusing in the distance and changing focus was pretty annoying IMO)

That, and, I really didn't get the "point". I couldn't see anything that the artist actually wanted to convey other then "Hey look, this is all made in the computer, watch it for 12 mins"

to me, it looked like the artist wanted to convey architecture as art. Angles, selective focus, interiors and exteriors, etc.

That's a style of photography I've always been drawn too, so it jumped right out to me. Nature and architecture, just using the varied elements, space, and lines, that's my style, especially black and white and working in a darkroom.

Everyone has their own answer to "what is art?"

I hate photography with people, it's just not my style. I also like abstract imagery, and honestly, the abstract is my biggest focus with photography. Abstract with what surrounds us, not placing things for the photograph.

But that's photography for you, and art in general. Everyone has a different opinion on what the ideal photo looks like.

Ansel Adams is probably my biggest photography hero. I also like light painting and long exposure night shots, especially in or around abandoned buildings.

Yeah, it was choppy. Can't wait to use a video card with flash 10.1, aka hardware acceleration.

it was simple... but he was really able to create something simple, but yet express so much mood and atmosphere.

That is pretty stunning. A few tricks to note here. One of the things that makes it seem more impressive is that it's an animated photoreal scene. I've seen lots of stills of this kind of quality but rarely do you see animations this detailed. Another is the use (I think over use) of focal blur to soften the look of everything. Whoever did the texturing for this animation is a real PRO as the modelling for most of it is rather simple actually. The lighting is also amazingly well done. I wonder if the entire thing is ray traced with global illumination (radiosity) or if they are using texturing to simulate some of the lighting?
