Importing .pst into Outlook Express?

I have a .pst file I exported from Outlook 2000 and I was wondering if there is some way to import this into Outlook Express, which I have on this other machine. I don't have Outlook running on this machine and I'd like to avoid installing it because it's a slower machine. If possible, how would I go about importing my old email onto this machine running Outlook Express 6? Also, if I do eventually go back to Outlook, how would I export from Outlook Express so I can import into Outlook later?

Thanks.

I looked at this link here. I try this:

"In the "Select an email client to import from" box, click the appropriate mail client, Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook, and then click Next."

When I try this I get this error:

"Messages cannot be imported from the MAPI client. An error has occurred."

Any ideas?

this always happened to me as well

here is my work around...

Assuming you are using XP- well here is what I do.... take your .dbx files from the old Outlook profile- asumming you still have them .

and drill down and copy them in here

C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{FBB4D0D5-5AF6-4FAC-93F9-DBA19C8FAC66}\Microsoft\

always works for me......

Same place:

C:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{A BUNCH OF LETTERS}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

If Windows is on a different drive replace c: with the drive letter.
