Importing pproxy buff-in files

Hi all,

To save me the hastle of trying to do a 2 proxy setup, does anyone know of a way to import blocks into a pproxy buff-in file? I've got one of Jinsonxu's buffin files as he was having a clearout on his pproxy and I'm just wondering if there is a way to import the blocks or if I have to use 2 pproxies and feed one from the other.

Thanks for the help

Seems to me that if you have the actual file that the pproxy uses, just let the current file deplete itself, dump it in the directory of the pproxy executable, and let loose!

I suppose I do have that option but it would take a couple of days to run the existing file down with my work herd so I might just go for the 1 pproxy option.

Thanks anyway Geoffs

You would have to shut down, move the buffers, then restart the proxy. The pproxy works comletely in memory and if you copy a buffer file in while the pproxy is running it will be overwritten. But once the pproxy is shut down you can easily swap buffers until your hearts content. 🙂

I don't think there's any way to import pProxy buffer file like there is within the client itself. Temporarily setting up a second proxy to "feed" into the other is sure a novel approach to take though.... 🙂 (now here's a guy who knows how to "think outside of the box", eh?) If I were you, I'd take the advice others have offered and just let the current buffers deplete and replace the files.

Hi Bobberfett, Thunder.

It was certainly looking like there wouldn't be a way around this so I did the 2 PProxy option and got the blocks sucked in that way.

Thanks anyway guys,

Thanks for the favour Dougal! 🙂

Those blocks (assuming the proxies aren't FIFO) are nearing 3 months old and i simply couldn't bear to have them reissued.

Dougal-

I don't know the scale that you have on the Pproxy in question, but I sneakernet the Pproxy at the school. I usually overfill a few select clients to deplete the proxy buffers before stopping the proxy, pasting in the new in-buffers, cut out the out buffers and restarting.

Another alternative is to just delete the old in-buffer, as Dnet will just reissue the uncracked blocks anyway.
