Important UT question.

I just got UT with my SBLive! X-Gamer 5.1. I also play Half-Life and Counter-Strike a lot, so that it my preferred method of control. It is, therefore, highly irritating that "show scores" in UT is automatically F1 with no discernable way to make it Tab. Especially because I've got an ergonomic keyboard with especially-small function keys. :disgust: If you know how to bind it to tab, or know-of somebody who does, please tell me!

The only thing I can think of right now is going into the options and looking around in the Controls tab, but I am sure you have already tried that out. Thats the best I can come up with right now, too tired to think.

I thought F Keys were programed in..
I dont think you can change them.

You could always hit the tilda ~ key and then type "preferences" and customize the controls in there.

open the UT console and type "preferences"
that will give you advanced preference for UT
then go to game options (or whatever it is the first choice) and choose raw key binding.... then you can bind from there...

also from the control setup you should've been able to do that.... i dunno what's wrong though.....

or you can move the CS/HL controls to match the one for UT

tab is too important a key to bind for just checking scores...keep F1

Thanks to Alienwho and stndn! That worked perfectly.

Now... is there a "select last selected weapon" feature, like there is in HL/CS? I *love* that feature, and it keeps throwing me off in UT (keep selecting the translocator heh).

And, UT4EVER, what do you mean, too important? What do you use it for? And why can't you use on of the other buttons surround WASD? Just curious...

W - forward
S - backwad
A - strafe left
D - strafe right
Q - previous weapon
E - use key
F - flashlight
R - drop weapon
U - team chat
Y - general chat
tab - show scores
ctrl - walk
shift - crouch
space - zoom
mouse1 - primary fire
mouse2 - jump
mouse3 - reload
mwheelup - previous weapon
mwheeldown - next weapon

Home = Forward
End = Backward
Delete = Strafe Left
Page Down = Strafe Right
Insert/MWD = Previous Weapon
Page Up/MWU = Next Weapon
Left Mouse = Fire
Right Mouse = Impact Hammer Jump
NumPad0 = Alternate Fire
NumPad4 = Translocator
Backslash = Select Best Weapon
Enter = Jump
Shift = Shock Combo
Ctrl = Crouch
Down = Crouch Toggle
Left = Feign Death
Right = Zoom

If I could ever get a Mouse w/ scroll wheel permanently setup on this computer, I would take off the keys that do prev/next weapon & make them turn keys for better strafing
