I seem to remember reading somewhere that to qualify to race in that import drag racing league (IMHA or something like that) you could run any 4-6 cylinder car, foreign or domestic. Does that mean you could race a grand national?

I'm guessing no as it is not really an import although some parts were probably made in China:D

well, from the info you've provided, if your ride has 4, 5 or 6 cylinders you should be able to.

but if it was ALL 4,5,6 cyl. cars, wouldnt they just call it smaller-mid engine or something instead of import?

Open to any import or domestic sport compact vehicle (Focus)

GN is not a compact, it's Grandpa's Super Sleeper to the untrained eye ;)

I found this in the official rulebook:

<< Engine:
FWD platform: Any 4 or 6 cylinder, or 2 rotor rotary, automobile engine, import or domestic, permitted. RWD and AWD platform: Engine must be of import manufacture or from domestic labeled, joint manufactured platform.
>>

So, a FWD drive GN would have qualified.....
