PenguinPower was Vader, and was Krazy's second choice...

I could tell Dixy knew... but then a lot of misdirect at the end confused the issue, and without a Rebel chat room Dixy couldn't just tell his fellow Rebels directly.
Once dixy and I were outed we could have use the message board to bounce around ideas to try to convince luke who Vader was. No longer necessary to be dance around the issue by then.

Actually once the imperial had a clear path to victory all 4 rebels could have communicated on the message board. Nothing more to lose by then. A last mistake on our part.

Fuck. Well played SSsnail. I thought it was a little too obvious in the beginning almost too desperate. Definitely a seasoned player. I don't think he voted in any of the 1st 2 task and cast doubt about the teams from the get go with no reasons why.

Later on he accused Char of being a rebel which I thought was misdirection which it probably was. It just directed the attention right to him. I guess looking back now it was too obvious. Good game.

I take the blame for the lost. I saw that 3 of the first 4 were rebels. I got a little too aggressive. With 7 imperials i think the advantage went to the rebels in early rounds and then to the imperials later on in the game. I thought he it was a good shot we can fail the 1st 2 missions. The critical mistake I made was that I gave the scanner to DixyCrat. I really did misread chiros post. Otherwise I would have given it to the dustbowl and he could have skipped akenbennu without leading to suspicion. Who knows how the game would have unfolded then. Would Vader had been forced out earlier?

Thanks for the game. It was my 1st mafia/resistance game. Definitely more strategy than I thought. Got schooled by some more seasoned players. Can anyone tell me where I messed up? I know failing the 1 St mission would throw suspicion on me. But I was hoping for the quick win. Maybe play for the long gAme is better?

It was my first game of this as well. I actually got lucky on my turn, I expected Char to be the Rebel when I scanned him, everything else fell into place when he came of darkside.

Good game. The one thing that made it a little hard to follow compared to the werewolves games was the lack of a time limit. I would check in and see that it was moving really slow, and then I would check back just a bit later and we had skipped forward quite a bit.

I'm surprised Krazy didn't pick Penguin. Dixy already called him out as Vader, both indirectly in post 168 and directly in post 229.

I didn't think of it at the time, but I agree, you rebels should have just openly communicated in here when the fate of the plans was sealed. There were no repercussions for being open about your rebellion at that point.

Hindsight is 20/20. I was suspicious of both for all the reasons mentioned earlier. I flipped a coin and I was wrong.

To address the unasked question: I don't have the time to run another game right now, although I might be able to sometime in the future. If someone else wants to volunteer to run the next one (conventional werewolf, resistance style, or something else) I would certainly like to play in it :)

I like both games. I think I need to play this one again to really appreciate it but I'm happy with either.

Thanks Chiro!!!

Id like to see this style of game from the player POV, but I'd also be happy to play a werewolf game. Dealer's choice, IMO.

Penguins got the next game, but I really want to see this game from the DM perspective.

I'm fine with passing on running until after you. You have more experience with these type games, so feel free to run the next one.

Has anyone here tried the Civilization game (think it got its start on 4Chan)? It's less structured then these Werewolf/Star Wars games but might be fun. Basic gameplay is that the players select their race and location and then take turns agreeing to one of several potential choices of action. The person running the game determines the outcome of their decision and what the next set of choices will be. It is more open-ended than the Werewolf/Star Wars games however we could organize it into two teams that were competing against each other, either head-to-head or players getting voted out "Survivor" style.

I'm still trying to get the hang of the 2 types of games we've already played - but that's just me. I'm sure most people have a lot more game experience than I do.

I'll try anything but if we add more games, we should try to run them in parallel and have the timing somewhat synced so people know when they need to check in.

I didn't want to clutter up the new thread and I figured if I started another, a lot of the previous players wouldn't see it. So I'll put this here since the thread is essentially dead.

How do people feel about running 2 games in parallel - one rebels and one werewolf? To the extent that there is a lot of overlap I can see keeping roles and usernames straight might be a problem, but I'm thinking that's probably just me.

I don't know what I'm doing and so would need some help for the former GM's but if everyone can be patient with me and I can manage to not bork the game by doing something stupid, I'd be willing to try to run a werewolf game in parallel with the rebels game.

To the extent possible, I would try to coordinate my game with Dixy's but that may or may not be a reasonable expectation. And as I said, I would need some help setting things up and might have questions about game play such as execution order if 2 night actions seem to be contradictory, etc.

Honestly I'm not sure about that. I personally wouldn't want to be in two games at once, and if other people feel the same way both games may have lower player count.
