imovie 09 alternative for windows?

This is probably the one thing I really miss from leaving my short Apple stint. Quick and dirty, but not completely useless, video editor. WMM is ok, but I just don't like it.

From what I gather, Vegas, Pinnacle, and Premiere Elements are my likely candidates? Is there anything else? I assume I can do basic transitions and text with these? What I'm missing from WMM is more refined control of some of transitions and effects (eg, slow down video by percentage instead of a hard "2x").

Since I will be buying this stuff, it'd be kinda cool if I could do basic green screen things too maybe. talking about stationary cheesy crap, heh. AVCHD would be a huge plus if recommending outside what I listed.

Yah, I'd go with Vegas.

Or, you know, Hackintosh 😉

done that, quirks just made it not worth it for me, heh. I had an iMac for a reason. It's unfortunate Apple targets the "premium" market.
