The moron who wrote this article really needs to learn what "freedom" really means. It includes:
* Being able to choose your OWN religion, without having one forced opon you by the government
* Being able to speak any damn language you feel like, even if it isn't the majority language.
* The ability to expression your opinion about things that you don't like. Whether it be the flag, our laws, our government, or our lifestyle, or anything else for that matter. It even gives morons like this guy the right to author borderline racist religious tripe like this column.

The United States has a robust culture buoyed by the spirit of generations of immigrants; this is a great strength and in large part makes America what it is. However, I do believe that anyone who chooses to immigrate to the United States does bear certain responsibilities:
* Do it legally. There is a process in place for this which is designed to make it as fair as possible for everyone. I have no sympathy for you if you try to enter the country illegally and die out in the desert (and no, your family should NOT have the right to sue the US for not putting "water stations" out in the desert to facilitate your illegal entry into this country).
* At least make SOME effort to learn the language. If you lack the mental capacity to do so, at least make sure that your kids do. Schools should be taught in English, and English only. Lack of communication and extensive multi-lingual education will possibly lead to ethnic separation, and other countries provide an excellent example that this is a bad thing (read: Yugoslavia)
Edit: WTF is up with the whole "multilingual ballot" thing? How can you make any kind of informed decision upon whom to vote for when you cannot understand the issues? Once again, LEARN ENGLISH.

i guess it makes sense that newcommers should just enter and expect an entire nation to change in it's behalf just to accomodate him. As an immigrant myself, we had to earn the right to legally enter, and after all that work, contribute productively to society. People who just waltz in here and sit around complaining about why it's so hard piss the fvck out of me.:frown:

first off, they were never a complete group... we just lump them together, but it's not like they were all unified... many tribes did have practices enslaving members of other tribes.

Yes, america is changing, so is Canada and so is every other dammned country on earth and there's nothing we can do about it. Globalization is more than just free trade. In 100 years, our countries will look nothing like they do now. The only way to stop is to become an isolationist, xenophobic state that has Hitler-like policies.
