The technology seems to be progressing. Likely it was 15 fps initially, if you read that, then 24 and the newest is 48 fps.

its not 15fps. its 15 perforations per frame. a news website misinterpreted it and reported it as 15fps.

i'm pretty sure its 24, as this is what the actual imax website says, not 48.

i'm pretty sure its 24, as this is what the actual imax website says, not 48.

Would be nice to see Matrix at 48fps though.

it makes sense... since I can DEFINATELY tell a difference from 30fps in quake to 100 fps and so forth... although slight movements at both 30fps and 100fps are similar, moving around really fast you notice the difference.

Fight scenes in movies IMO need more than 30fps, sometimes it's hard to tell what's going on (or maybe my brain is really slow, one or the other 😛 )

someone just search for the old thread, this is the EXACT same discussion... and yea, computer FPS and movie FPS are 2 different things... but i dont want to have the whole conversation again.

For somthing as massive as an IMAX movie, 15FPS would prolly make the majority of theatre go-ers dizzy or give them a headache.. and you could definatly tell the difference between 24 and 48 on a screen that size. Some people could probably even pick up the differences between 48 and 60fps...

Your eye can probably detect over 1000fps in many situations.
