Only if you'd be able to see it through the puke you'd be coughing up. :p

Just joking :p just an idea though lol.

good info I learnt here pulse8.

If you want to freak your brain out a little, try to imagine that when you go to a theater and watch a film, you actually spend half the time in complete darkness.

Yeah, I'm sure you can tell with the older cartoons that are 12 fps. You can't tell.

15fps at that size would give you headaches. you'd see huge jumps in motion.

imax 3d is nuttier. its like 45fps or somethign from what i remember. i'm talking the one where u where lcd shutter glasses. very kewl:)

Just about every projected film is done so at 24 fps. They may have only done 12 cels per frame, but when they went to final product, they did something to compensate for that and projected at 24 fps.

If they are anything like computer shutter glasses, they run at 48 fps or 2x the framerate.

Shutter glasses for computers run at double the refresh rate of the monitor.

alright, its been established that imax film runs at 24fps. whether or not 24fps is suitable for your eyes is a matter of debate. there are a lot of threads in HT i think which discuss this ad nauseum.

heres some fun reading!

maybe they didn't get quite up to double? hehe:) yea i know, shutters on each eye make sure each eye only sees one frame. theres an infrared detector on the front to keep sync.

Projected film fps and the fps on a computer are 2 very different things.

is this true?

wouldn't that mean it wouldn't be as smooth?

can someone explain it to me?

The author has no clue what he is talking about.
It has 15 perforations per frame.
He probably go this numbers mixed up.

Well, crud. Pulse8 pretty much said everything i was going to say, but I want to add my 2 cents anyway. :D

16fps is the slowest film can be projected w/it looking like a series of still pictures. 24fps was selected, basically, because it saved money (slower frame rate=less film needed) and didn't look too bad when projected. :)

I lived in descent with the frames per second showing at the bottom right (or was it bottom left??). Viper GTS and I used to play over a dialup connection all the time.

Go to hell. I can tell.

sure you can tell on a computer, but the way a computer displays frames and a tv/movie displays is different. you cant really compare the two.
