DriveImage XML is an easy to use and reliable program for imaging and backing up partitions and logical drives.

The program allows you to:

* Backup logical drives and partitions to image files
* Browse these images, view and extract files
* Restore these images to the same or a different drive
* Copy directly from drive to drive
* Schedule automatic backups with your Task Scheduler

Is DriveImage XML the best Imaging Ultility to use?

What are the other recommended imaging ultilities?

I just got Acronis True Image 10. I installed on the OS HD and defragged 3 times. What back up method is the best to preserve what I have installed up to this point?

i'm for true image too, already have been using it since 7th version.

What back up method is the best to preserve what I have installed up to this point?

What do you mean? Are you talking about differential and incremental backups? if so, then it up to you what to choose:

An incremental image contains all changes that have been made since the latest incremental or full backup was created. If one full image and several incremental were created, all of these images must be saved in the same folder so that you will be able to restore the data. If one of incremental images or a full image is deleted, there is no way to restore the set, since all images are dependent on each other.

A differential image contains all changes that have been done after the full image creation. To restore a differential image, Acronis True Image must match the differential image with the original one.

My vote goes to Acronis True Image 10 too. Use the My Computer radio button to back up your entire drive.

I personally use Norton Save and Restore (aka Ghost) and love it. DriveImage is good for a free option, but you have to make a BartPE CD to image your active drive.
