where is them damn windmills when you need them?

That speed wind is way above feathering stage for 99% of SWECS. 😉

I'll bet you could para-sail off the back of a cruise liner.....

Maybe under the right conditions but a boat with its ability to accelerate and stop far faster would be a better bet.

Flying a kite equipped with a camera off the stern would make for some interesting views!

Girls of atot are tease!

Foaming oil provides insufficient lubrication. Better warm up that crankcase of yours before getting started! 😛

She could also sell it to members as a "What not to do in a windstorm" video tape.

I may even purchase that.

We actually get winds stronger than that across upper decks when the conditions are right - winds across the starboard bow of 50-60 knots with forward ship movement of 23-25 knots makes average realized windspeed of 75+ knots (86 mph).

Combined with ship movement walking around in those areas is quite dangerous!

I'm also told by a stormchaser that once the wind gusts to 150 mph (providing you can hold on!) all clothes are removed!

Sounds like you need to go find yourself a tornado and bring your camera along. 😉

Some would consider this a first day buy.

I've seen waterspouts and got pictures of them. They are neat but I prefer to stay away from the suck zone. 😉

I suppose it would be possible for that to happen with sabotage. 😱

Well, I am thinking 140mph wind hitting Denmark's Horns Rev in North Sea and someone forgot to safety the wind mills 🙂

That's just another bad hair day in Cheyenne.

I don't even think that qualifies any higher than a stiff breeze from the observatory folks. When the winds start gusting to 185 mph they make remarks about it being windy. 😱

I don't think I could sleep in those conditions. When I can hear the wind howling I also expect to be chasing flying things in my room! 😀
