Imagine a republican controlled...

Imagine if the Republicans controlled the House, Senate, Presidency, and Supreme Court!

They are expected to take over the senate today. The only thing left is the presidency, and they can take this by making Obama look bad for the next two years. Maybe Jeb Bush or Ted Cruz as president?

That would be a nightmare scenario.

and the republicans are divisive and fear monger. LOL

Glad you're finally seeing the facts.....although I'd prefer you use conservatives instead of Republicans. Hate the Republican moniker being sullied by present day conservatives, trashing the legacy of progressiveness Republicans used to have before the Democrats (well, Democrats other than the southern "Democrats") co-opted that.

2003 to 2007: republicans had the house, senate, and presidency. The supreme court leaned conservative during that time as well.

Result: wars, massive debt (in the form of few spending cuts, but a huge backloaded tax cut), and lead up to biggest recession in decades. On the plus side, unemployment was steady during that time and GDP grew (albeit never at a fast rate). Inflation was okay but on the high side of the desired range.

Well, here is exactly what will happen...

Republicans will take the senate.
Republicans will attempt to pass their own agenda.
No compromise, no cooperation, it's either their way or no way.
And with every single bill proposed, republicans will attach the condition for Obamacare repeal.
Yes, attached to every single bill.
Naturally, Obama will veto (I assume but to be honest I really don't know what goes on in his mind these days) will veto every bill with any hint of Obamacare repeal attached.

Obama will try to get judges confirmed. Offices filled.
And again, republicans will agree to confirm only if Obamacare repeal is in the deal.
And there we are, again. Dead in the water.

Republicans will then claim that president Obama is out of touch and ignoring the mandate given to republicans in the election.
Republicans will insist that Obama must comply with ACA repeal.
But Obama will not comply, and bill after bill, law after law, judge after judge will go nowhere.
And for the entire next two years, nothing but finger pointing.

But believe it or not, it will get worse.
The government will be shut down, again. Probably more than once.
Programs that need re-funding and extension will have none.
And simply because at every turn, republicans will condition ACA repeal for their cooperation.

And that will be the next two years.
So the question really is, how fed up will the American people become?
And what would Hillary do?

We are still in wars, debt under Obama's makes the debt under Bush look like chump change, and even more tax cuts.

And what would Hillary do?
Get us in a war the Republicans would love!

Seriously people the Republicans suck but comparisons to ISIS are ridiculous. Perrybot above and others had you having Ebola by now, which you don't, and yes it's their conservative minds in action. They and their partisan counterparts focus on telling the "tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing."

Cutting off heads? That's silly

Oh. Forgot to add.
Jobs.

Republicans believe jobs ship off shore because US business taxes are too high.
Like if business would ever move back onshore simply for lower taxes.
Which would have to be ZERO.
No tax, but still unable to pay slave labor employees 70 cents an hour.
Business moving back onshore. Yeah RiGhT.... IMAO

So anyway, and regardless of fact, business taxes are cut drastically by republicans.
Then, guess who makes up the loss? The difference?
If you have a debit, you need the offsetting credit.
Queue the list for those taking the hit:
Seniors.
College students.
Citizens with higher state taxes.
Citizens with higher federal taxes.
Deep cuts to social programs.
Higher interest rates.
Stock market depression.
Job loss.
Double digit employment for all, once again.
Merry Christmas America!

That lead paint was good stuff huh? Nom nom nom. You must have eaten a ton of it.

It is times like right now I love. Get to see the pot call the kettle black. The OP starts it off with a dire nightmare scenario. Though fails to even explain what that means except complete republican control. Then other bots join in about wars, unemployment, debt ect ect. All of which have been continued or expanded on by Democrats over the past 6 years. It is absolutely amusing to read. But sad to see people so consumed by a label to understand neither party has our interest in mind.

I have to say that war under Obama is MASSIVELY less than that under bush by any reasonable measure. Less money, fewer troops committed, fewer casualties on both sides.

Additionally, there is smart debt and there is dumb debt. Running up debts during a depression is smart. Running up debts during an economic expansion is foolish. Sure the OP would probably post the same thing even if these things weren't the case, but there is a pretty huge distinction to be drawn.

How many heads have Republicans cut off? I know you didn't say that, but yeah, there's concern and then there's ridiculous. Regarding war, this piece in Slate seems about right. We're not done there by any means and what happens after the election remains to be seen.

Anyway, this isn't the real world scenario at least not now. Americans often like a politically divided government and that may be what we have. Republicans then would send legislation to Obama who will veto it. Rinse, repeat.

Voting for either D or R will lead to the same shit. Republicans are only worse because of their fundamentalist caucus.

Do. Not. Vote. For. Either

Flying planes into buildings had nothing to do with the wars you mention?

Need I remind you the nation wanted blood for what happened on 9/11.

I don't see it that way. Republicans are now required to get something done. They'll go after easy stuff like keystone pipeline and call it a jobs program. Then it will fall apart when we get close to next presidential cycle. The nut bags will destroy all progress to pander to the most conservative voters possible.
I want to predict nothing will be accomplished regarding campaign finance and i have a funny feeling some more shitty trade agreements will be signed.

This is not leadership. I'm sick of our representatives not doing their job and the USA falling behind every other country in the developed world.
