What's the fisr thing that pops into your mind (words or images) when you think of the term "martial arts"?

I've been making posters for martial arts groups, and I'm dissatisfied with my style . . . it seems that I've been doing similar things over and over again.

Gimmie your reactions!

Why not take some photos of a "class in progress" - a class doing taegueks (in sync, preferably!) or sparring (noncontact and full?)

Because TKD is the most watered-down style of "martial arts" (and I'm using this term loosely here, folks) around, on par with most Shotokan karate/the newer "eclectic" styles of "martial arts", pandering to children and lazy middle class housewives looking for a hobby.

Martial arts brings all kinds of images like Micheal Cain. Chinatown. Ying and Yang. Images that indicate balance.

The martial arts are also about finding balance in your own life and a search for personal perfection. Kind of like a perfect painting has balance and depth and makes you think.

Thank you for telling me that. I had no clue what martial arts is about, and all that other "spiritual" BS that comes with it. Really. [/asshat]

Well, you said you were making posters, so I was assuming that they were "Recruit for the local McDojo" kinda things.

If you want serious MA, you might be better off looking at the spiritual side of it.
