image program needed

i used to use imageview95, until i upgraded to windowsXP which included a really nice program for looking at pictures. The feature i liked was that i could look through an entire directory of pictures. With the program included with XP i like that fact that i could look at animated pictures, and they would be animated. I went back to win2K and i want a nice program to do this, but i think imageview is starting to get dated. any suggestions

Have you tried IrfanView? If not, I think you'll like it. It's a great image viewer, and it's free. You can view pics individually, run slideshows, and look at the contents of a folder via thumbnails. You can even use it as a video player, although it isn't as smooth as Media Player in that regard.
