I remember we had the humpback iMacs in highschool around 2000/2001 for our AV class. I think it even had Final Cut running on it. My first introduction to digital video. Back then the school had one consumer grade DV camcorder that still used tapes. The rest of the cameras were VHS and had to be ingested in real time. Now I've moved to XDCAM but I'm still using iMacs for editing.
You don't understand. It was a secret ploy by Apple to jumpstart the USB peripheral surge. They knew that if they, Apple, made a crappy mouse, people would be forced to seek out alternatives, using USB on the new iMacs at the time, of course. Apple did the world a huge favor - this was a windfall event.
It's all a big conspiracy, I tell you :Q
