Imac Repair Question

I purchased an imac a couple yrs ago it was a core 2 duo one and purchased the protection plan with it. Although I did purchase that I was feeling a little cheap so I did a little doctor work and replaced the hard drive with my own. I don't feel as comfortable with it and was wondering if they will still take out the hard drive and replace it now. I ask because the drive has bad sectors on it.

Confused.

You want Apple to replace a HD that you replaced yourself?

Yeah I guess that's where I am going with this. I mean would they even do it even if its not free idc. I just don't want to take it apart myself.

Apple will not repair a drive that you put in under Applecare.

You could put the original back in and see if they'll fix that.
