imac 233

I have been offered an original 233 MHz imac in perfect working order and would like to know what you all think it is worth?

i dunno, try egay. i cant even guess. iwouldnt pay more than $1. even if i paid for it. i would just resale it.

If you can tout it as "Internet, multimedia ready" which it is and find a sucker you can probably get $400 for it but $250 or so is more realistic. Fortunately I only paid $999 for my iMac rev B just after the rev C's came out at $1,299. Of course here it is 3 years later and the iMac is just to slow so I replaced it with a Dell Dimension 4100 P3/866 but the new iMacs are rumored to have a totally new design, LCD display, nVidia graphics card and other improvements, tempting.

I wouldn't spend a whole ton on that machine.....the originals have nothing on the new ones and I doubt that will run OS X very well. You could always add RAM and try it, but the 233 is what's getting me. If it's really cheap, to the point where you really can't just walk away, get it just to mess around with. 🙂

if you can get it for real cheap, i would get it, but just to have it. you never know when you might need to test some mac software, or something similar.
